Our practices terminology

Dear Parents:

In order to improve the chances of your child having a positive experience in our office, we are selective in our use of words. We try to avoid words that scare the child due to previous experiences. Please support us by NOT USING negative words that are often used for dental care.

Dont use	Replacement phrase
Needle or shot	Shaking tooth to sleep
Decay, Cavity	Sugar bug
Drill	Mr. Whistle
Drill on tooth	Clean a tooth
Examination	Count teeth
Explorer	Tooth counter
Pull or yank tooth	Wiggle a tooth out
Rubber Dam	Tooth pillow
Tooth cleaning	Tickle teeth
Nitrous gas	Happy gas

This will also help you understand your child’s description of the filling experience. Our intention is not to “fool” the child- it is to create an experience that is positive. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us build a good attitude for your child!

They were patient and very thorough of what they would be doing. They completely made me and my kids comfortable. They are completely geared towards the kids and making sure they have a great experience. It was super clean and very put together. Highly would recommend

They give toys and balloons at the end of every visit! My toddler LOOKS FORWARD TO GOING TO THIS DENTIST!!! She’s always excited to go to the dentist, I can’t believe it!
